It was a glorious Resurrection Sunday in McMinnville. Here's the order of  worship. Not blogging much for the next week  as I'm writing an IWS paper.

Rock The World

Our youth meeting is called "Rock The World". We started things off Wed night with a video of "Silly Songs with Larry" from Veggie Tales.

Had an awesome time worshipping with (pictured to the right of me) Audrey Hatcher and  Val Strain. along with youths Christian Beuhring (far left) and (not pictured) Summer Harpole (vocal) and Issac Hall (perc).

The songs were "Fill This Room" (Joe & Theresa Mazza), "You  alone Are Worthy of All My Praise" (Ruis) and "All My Praise"  by Audrey.  She's got a #1 with that song as recorded by "Selah"  and it's featured on the latest WorshipLeader SongDiscovery CD. It's a great song and the kids really worshiped with it - way to go Audrey!

The Sounds of Heaven on Earth - The Convergence of Justice, Worship and Intercession

This will be an awesome Encoutners Network (James Goll) conference with Chuck Pierce, Ray Hughes, Don Potter and many other heavy hitters. Starts today at Living Word Church in Brentwood. I'll be there helping "behind the scenes" coordinating worship, and I'll do a workshop (Friday afternoon) on "Crafting The Spirit-Inspired Song"

One of the readings as I work on my  Master's Degree (via the Institutue for Worship Studies) is Thomas Cahill's "How The Irish Saved Civilization". I discovered this awesome prayer called St. Patrick 's Breastplate. The link above will take you to the enitre prayer. Here is an excerpt.

I arise today
        Through God's strength to pilot me:

Weekend Report

On Saturday Belmont Church  had a worship seminar  called "Here Comes The Bride". Steve Fry gave a really insightful teaching on intimacy in worship from Song of Solomon. Get the recording of the teaching if you can. Kirk & Debby Dearman led worship in the morning and Terry MacAlman led in the evening. I was very encouraged by his testimony that afternoon.

Today (Sunday) I was blessed to lead worship with our friends in McMinnville at Christ Community Church. Pastor Paul had an encouraging message on the Holy  Spirit. Here's the order of worship.

Worship In Spirit and Truth

John 4 reminds us that God is looking for worshipers.

Here's my challenge for "public" worship leaders - be a "private" worshiper! Practice the presence of the Lord.

Even though I've had this site for almost a year, I still feel like a baby blogger still learning the ropes. The goal of this site is to be of value and interest to anybody interested in worship.

It's run by a really cool guy - DJ Chuang, who gave me some good advice when I e-mailed him. Check it out.

Worshiper and Leader: Personal Worship

Yesterday we touched on the leadership aspect of being a Worship Leader. However, before we can lead worship, we have to be worshipers.

A good while ago I was part of a fellowship of worshipers/songwriters that would meet at EMI Christian Music Group in Brentwood (worshiptogether.com). On one such gathering we were quite challenged by this question by Stuart Townend – do you have a personal worship life? For a lot of us – that’s a big ouch!

David worshiped God unseen, all by himself, with no one to lead or prepare for, except maybe sheep. According to Matt 12:34 we minister from the overflow of our lives. It’s essential that we are worshipers whether we are leading or not. Especially when we are not leading. So here's a word from our Sponsor:  Have a personal, private time of worship with no agenda –  (and no fair practicing or preparing the songs for Sunday :)
